About Cogent
Cogent Business Solutions is a Canberra based business, that was founded in 1996, initially providing management consultancy services to Commonwealth and State Government, industry and non-profit organisations.
Over its 20+ years in business, Cogent has delivered over 520 projects providing effective solutions to clients all with superior client satisfaction.
Cogent grew to provide specialist audit services, employment screening and more. During its 20+ year history, Cogent has been integral in establishing a number of business ventures which expanded the operations to include audit systems, an indigenous joint venture, Kapani a program for indigenous communities to provide mentoring and coaching, and employment screening.
Today, Cogent is a leading provider of personnel security vetting to the Commonwealth Government of Australia and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). We have a track record of providing superior customer service and a commitment to quality. Cogent Business Solutions undertakes security vetting for the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA). Cogent’s head office is located in Fyshwick, Canberra with dedicated offices for our vetting team. Our Canberra Office meets all requirements of the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP).
In 2018 Cogent developed a digital platform called VerifyNow to streamline its employment screening services, making the process faster and simpler for both organisations and applicants. VerifyNow was sold in March 2023.
